Male Rapper Needed for Jazzy Funk EDM track

Hi everyone,

This will be the penultimate gig I upload for my upcoming album. For this track, I’m looking for a male rapper to drop a few bars to accompany the female lead. The female vocalist has already submitted the vocals, and I’ll provide them below to help.

About my sound:

The genres I draw influence from include glitch hop, neurofunk, nu disco, hip-hop, rock, ambient, dubstep, jazz, and electronica. My artistic influences include Tycho, Shpongle, Pretty Lights, Glitch Mob, Aphex Twin, Seven Lions & Poolside, among others with similar sounds. If you haven’t heard their sounds, I suggest you do!

If you’re interested in submitting a sample/demo for this track, please read the specifications below before submitting:

1) The song is called “The Last Tear”. Its content involves recovering from a breakup, and is meant to be upbeat as the lyrical theme is meant to evoke the following feelings:

A) Bravery, finally confronting one’s own inner demons that still haunt you and inhibit you from growing and moving on beyond your old comfort zone

B) Resolve, rejecting the ongoing attempts to make a failed relationship work despite having already done so multiple times in vain;

C) Excitement, looking towards the next chapter of life without dwelling excessively on the past.

So your lyrics need to align with those overall themes.

2) Your lyrics will come between these two verses. Here are the lead female’s lyrics in the build to the drop to help you:

Verse 1:
I don’t have any more reason to spend this night alone
I will dance with all my demons, I’ll sit with all my ghosts
I’m not scared of the dark. I’m not scared anymore
I don’t want to fight with what has been
This is the last tear that I’ll spill over this

3) In the first half of the file, you’ll notice that it’s an instrumental. I bring this up because the lack of percussion in the first half is intentional: I’m likely going to put a lo-fi filter on your vocals during this part, so prepare your best bars in the second half with the drop of the beat. Perhaps make the first part more relaxed, and then go hard in the second half.

4) Ignore the delay on the synth at the end of the sample. That’ll be taken out in the final version.

5) If you use effects, that’s fine. But I’ll also need the dry stems in addition to the wet ones.

6) Finally, since this track is part of an upcoming album, your name will be featured in the title of the release.
