Clay Newsom is an American pop singer-songwriter and producer with a passion for creating music that resonates with people. Born and raised in Walker, Louisiana, Clay has spent his 20s exploring and developing his unique sound.
At 29, Clay says, "I've always loved writing and producing music, but recently I feel like I've had a breakthrough with my own sound and how I'd like to express myself as an artist." His time at Berklee College of Music allowed him to grow and refine his skills, exploring his artistry on a deeper level.
Clay's musical journey started in a family band, where he played gigs around the Baton Rouge area. He quickly gained attention as a piano prodigy, especially in blues music. Over the years, he’s had the chance to meet and perform with blues legends like Henry Gray, James Johnson Jr., Oscar Harpo Davis, Jonathon "Boogie" Long, Sean Carney, Jaryd Lane, Larry Garner, and Dorothy Moore.
Shifting his focus to pop music, Clay draws inspiration from artists like Justin Timberlake, Charlie Puth, and Jon Bellion. He released his debut single "Not Like Me," followed by his first EP, "Confide," in June 2018. In 2021, he recorded four new songs for the motion picture soundtrack of "Do You Remember," set to release later that year. Clay continues to share new singles and is excited about releasing more music in the upcoming months.
