HardSleeper Music is a multi-genre label based out of Oakland, CA.
Having a place in the music industry since the ‘90s, HardSleeper Music’s label boss Jaye Sanders started making music at just 8 years old. A true hip-hop head at heart, Sanders eventually turned his passion for music into a full-blown career by launching a label of his own.
That label would later become HardSleeper Music, a name he came up with after getting locked out of his house in the middle of the night unable to wake his sleeping roommates.
“I couldn’t get over the fact they were such hard sleepers,” he said.
With a beat for every emotion, the label boasts a diverse catalog of artists ranging from Hip-hop, RnB, Soul, EDM, and Indie.
The quirky, funky label cites its main musical influences as J Dilla, Timbaland, Nicolay, Active Child, J-Live, Gramatik, Massive Attack and many more.
“It’s all about the mix.”
Today, HardSleeper Music aspires to continue being a strong independent label where rappers and singers alike can feel at home.
