Olivia Wood, 27 years old from Bury, Manchester.
I am a classically trained mezzo/ soprano singer and have recently completed a classical voice training course at Chethams School Of Music with Janice L Chapman. My classical influences are Maria Callas and Katherine Jenkins. I love taking a pop song and crossing it over into a classical number to give it a unique spin. I also grew up singing jazz standards and classic 1940's/50's songs. I am influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Keeley Smith and Doris Day and try recreating their authenticity when I sing. I also love musical theatre songs and i have completed a musical theatre course at the New York Film Academy in New York. I was in a girl group for three years and did a lot of pop and acoustic country music, so can work well with harmonies and reading music and also work well with other performers. I sing at large scale events and weddings across the North West, and I also sing at local restaurants, hotels and bars around Manchester. I enjoy going to my local studio and recording covers and videos and doing backing vocals too. I would like to keep adding to my experiences, learn more techniques and do performing full time!
