My name is Robert Ruby and I’ve been full-time as a music producer, composer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist musician in LA since 2017. I have my dream job and I’d love to help you finish and polish your music projects!

As a musician, I don’t want to be conventional. I like to bring new flavors and approaches to everything I work on. I love to create music that’s really catchy and instantly familiar, but with a twist, or an unusual angle. Some of my favorite albums from recent years are Lorde’s Melodrama, The 1975’s A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships, Mitski’s Be The Cowboy, and Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You.

I specialize in working with singer-songwriters, helping to finish writing, recording, producing, mixing and mastering your original albums and singles. I work in really diverse genres and styles, but I specialize in indie, alternative, blues, soul, vintage pop, musical theatre, rock, punk, garage, country, and folk.

I’ve been lucky to work on some really fantastic projects. Currently, I’m composing the soundtrack for a game in development, helping to compose and produce a couple of original musicals, and working with as many talented songwriters and musicians as I can. I’ve also written music for a game that was released on all major consoles in December 2018, and written and produced original songs for short films, ads, podcasts, and even hold music.

My studio is centrally located, about a mile from Downtown, Koreatown, or Echo Park. It’s a small/medium project studio, great to host about 1-3 people at once. On-site parking and very close to bus and subway stops.

I’ve got electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards and pianos, drums, and a lot of auxiliary instruments and hand percussion. I also like writing parts and hiring more instrumentation- brass and strings sections and more.
